Turning long sleeves to short sleeves

So since it’s officially summer and really hot I decided to take these 2 long sleeved shirts and make them short sleeves, cause we all know there is no way Mel will wear them next year.
And what’s awesome about this is you just cut at an upward angle from the bottom of the sleeve and tada you now have short sleeves, I thought mine looked fine and won’t fray so I didn’t hem them.
I thought the pink one was a little plain so I decided to make a bow for it. For the bow I just cut the sleeve open at the seem and then cut out a rectangle.
Next I just pinched the rectangle in the middle to make the shape and then sewed a strip of fabric around the middle.
To get the bow on the shirt I just sewed both sides on the middle of the bow.
And there we go two new spring shirts!

So I have taken an extremely long break from the blogging world. This is mainly due to person things, that I would've been blogging about but I don't think I'm ready to share all of that with the blogging world. But I am back now =]

Book Review: Choices of the Heart

Choices of the Heart is a riveting story about a young girl by Rhonda Kooyman. Throughout the story we watch as Tracy slowly disappears from the person she used to be by first allowing hate and anger to invade her heart when she finds her parents are getting a divorce. Tracy runs right into the arms of a man who seems too good to be true, and well he is. He manipulates Tracy and slowly secures her from her friends and family, bringing her into a life of physical and mental abuse. We get to see how much abuse does affect a person mentally and how anger can cloud judgement.

This is such a heartfelt book.
